As the Liberty Trike gains popularity and more people join the Liberty Trike Owner Community, it's essential to prioritize safety. One crucial aspect of Liberty Trike safety is understanding the risks associated with Lithium-ion batteries.
Lithium-ion batteries are a common source of power for electric vehicles like the Liberty Trike. These batteries are powerful and efficient, but they can also be dangerous if not handled correctly. In some cases, Lithium-ion batteries have been known to catch fire, causing significant damage and injury.
To prevent accidents and ensure your safety, we are introducing a public service announcement video and accompanying PDF with Lithium-ion battery safety guidelines to the Liberty Trike Owner Community. The video and PDF can cover essential safety practices, such as:
- Charging your battery correctly: Lithium-ion batteries require specific charging procedures to ensure they don't overheat or become damaged. It's essential to follow the manufacturer's charging instructions carefully.
- Storing your battery safely: When not in use, Lithium-ion batteries should be stored in a cool, dry place away from flammable materials. Avoid exposing the batteries to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight.
- Inspecting your battery regularly: Regular inspections can help you identify signs of damage or wear before they become a safety hazard. Look for cracks, swelling, or other signs of wear, and contact your Liberty Trike dealer or manufacturer if you notice any issues.
- Handling damaged batteries correctly: If you notice damage or wear on your battery, it's essential to handle it safely. Don't attempt to repair damaged batteries yourself, and avoid exposing them to water, heat, or other potential hazards.

Glad to see this information coming from y’all! I love my trike but with the weather haven’t ridden a lot this winter. I did have concerns with battery storage. Questions answered between the pdf and video.
