Today, we'll guide you through installing pedal extensions on your Liberty Trike. Why do riders use pedal extenders? Well, pedal extensions increase the length of the pedal axle by providing a rider with more foot placement options and eliminating concerns about catching your heel on the chain stay, knee pain, or altering the knee-to-pedal angle.
Following these step-by-step instructions, you can install pedal extensions on your Liberty Trike, enhancing your riding comfort and experience.
1. Removing the Pedal:
- Use a fifteen millimeter open-ended wrench to remove the pedal. Place the wrench on the locking nut and rotate it counterclockwise.
- Once the nut is loose, you can continue to loosen it by hand.
- Remove the pedal from the crank arm.
2. Attaching the Extension:
- Take the pedal extension and align it with the pedal threads.
- Tighten the extension down by hand, ensuring a secure fit.
3. Reattaching the Pedal:
- Attach the pedal, including the extension, back to the pedal assembly.
- Hand tighten it down by rotating it clockwise.
- Once the pedal is hand tightened, use the fifteen millimeter wrench to tighten it down thoroughly.
Always check your extensions and pedals before each ride to ensure maximum safety and reliability.
